Taxes: Room rates do not include 16% tax. Package rates include all taxes. 

Transfers: Transfers are not included in room rates. Package rates include transfers.

Deposit and Cancellation

Deposit - Verbal reservations are held for ten days pending $50/person deposit. Deposits become nonrefundable 60 days prior to travel.. Deposits for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year are nonrefundable.
Cancellation - At any time are subject to a $25 handling fee. $50 per person penalty for cancellations or group size reductions within 60 days of travel date. No refunds are made for cancellations made 45 days of travel date. Cancellations within 45days incur $150 per person penalty. Remaining pre-paid funds can be used as a travel credit for future travel within 1 calendar year. No shows and cancellations within 7 days forfeit all monies and credits.
Refunds - Unused portions of land packages are not refundable for any reason ncluding airline delays, cancellations, weather, or acts of God.

Detailed description of the certification course:

The open water course takes four days to complete and involves 4
classroom sessions, 2 confined water (skill) sessions and 4 open water
dives (2 to 12 meters/40 feet and 2 to 18 meters/60 feet). The price is
$176 including all materials, equipment, certification, a log book, reef
tax and 4 nights in shared accommodation at the Mango Inn Hotel. Each
dive after that costs $15 and there is a $3 reef fee per person per day

About The Mango Inn on Utila

The Mango Inn was designed and built to accommodate travelers who want to enjoy comfort and quality without spending lots of money. We are located in the heart of Utila but our lush tropical gardens ensure you a peaceful stay with us.

The buildings are all made from wood, constructed in "island style" and placed around the existing mature fruit trees. Mango, Coconut, Craboo, Banana, Lime, Tamarind, Canup and Mamey trees crowd around, giving visitors a chance to taste the fruits of the Caribbean right from their balcony.

All rooms have two beds, fans and a large balcony where you can sip your evening cocktail or ice cold beer. Rooms with en-suite bathrooms have hot and cold running water, offering you a chance to unwind under a relaxing hot shower after a full day's diving.

The cabins are air-conditioned and also have two beds, fans, hot and cold running water, cable television and a large balcony. Already known throughout Utila as the place to go for a luxurious night, the island's newly weds now choose our cabins for their special honeymoon night.

Nestled under the mango tree in the heart of the hotel, you can enjoy a quiet drink or a bite to eat at the Cafe Mango. Our bar/restaurant is a great place to exchange dive stories with fellow adventurers or hear a little about the history of Utila from one of the local characters

Eating Out and Night Life on Utila

Cafe Mango, located in the garden of the Mango Inn Hotel, has a taste bud inspiring menu and a Sunday BBQ renowned for its great party atmosphere.

The Jade Seahorse, with its own style of "island" decor, is famed for its great fresh fruit milkshakes.

Mermaids is Utila's friendly pizza and pasta place.

Sharkey's Reef Restaurant, open evenings only, has superb seafood.

Bundu Cafe provides great coffee as well as a selection of top sandwiches and snacks to munch while you borrow books from their extensive book exchange.

Delaney's Kitchen always has great specials, e.g. their delicious Danish Meatballs.

Thomson's Bakery is a cheap and unique breakfast tradition in Utila.

Golden Rose Restaurant has a wide choice of meals and is air-conditioned for a cool dining experience.

The Bucket of Blood is a traditional island pub. The oldest bar on Utila, this is the place for a Saturday night session with the locals.

The Casino has disco lights and even a smoke machine for a fun Caribbean style nightclub.

"07" (Zero-Siete) rocks on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and on Saturdays the music pumps all night long so you can really get into the island's rhythm.

Sea breakers and The Reef both offer fantastic views of the sun setting over the harbour to accompany your evening drinks.
