Day 1: After a welcome meeting and a short explanation of our program, we'll depart to the colonial city of Gracias a Dios. After touring the city historical district, and learn about it's importance in colonial times, we are going to brief you also about the Lenca culture and it's roll in the life of this city. Late afternoon tour to Arcilaca hot springs. (breakfast).

Day 2: In the morning we are going to head to Erandique. After check in at the local lodge we visit and local opal mines; here we will learn about the processing of this gems and the great expectancy that this has in the future of Erandique. (breakfast)

Day 3: Early in the morning we will visit the city of San Francisco where we hike Lan Cueva Pintada (the painted Cave) to see the Lencas magnificent wall paintings portraying the daily life in ancient times. In the afternoon we are going back to Gracias. (breakfast)

Day 4: Transfer to San Pedro Sula (breakfast).

Copan

Day 1: We meet and greet at San Pedro Sula for a short explanation of our program. Transfer to the colonial city of Santa Rosa de Copan; check in at Hotel Elvir and a tour to the tobacco factory "La Flor de Copan" where hand made cigars are still being made. Picnic lunch at
La Montanita Natural Park, post tour to the Argicultural Training Farm (sustainable agriculture) where an alternative way of farming is being implemented; back to Santa Rosa for a city tour and shopping (breakfast).

Day 2: Departure to Belen Gualcho, stopping on our way at the colonial town of Corquin, where we are going to have lunch. Check in at a local lodge. Visit to the Colonial Church and villages around Belen Gualcho (breakfast).

Day 3: San Sebastian hiking or mule trekking across Celaque Mountain Range (12 km) six hours away from Belen Gualcho. Picnic lunch at Ojaca village (halfway). San Sebastian (1900) is a charming town where most of it's population are Spanish descendents;

Day 4: Departure to the city of Gracias a Dios (transfer by car), stopping on our way in at the Lenca Villages of La Campa and San Manuel Colohete to admire the beautiful ornamented churches and their women handcrafted pottery. Check in at a local hotel and have lunch.
Late afternoon city tour, dinner at local restaurant (breakfast).

Day 5: Departure to Celaque National Park; morning hike around Arcilaca riverside, picnic lunch at the visitors center. Here, our naturalist will brief us about the biology and the flora of this beautiful area. Back to Gracias (breakfast).

Day 6: Transfer to San Pedro Sula; visit to Guamiloto craft market (breakfast).

Alternative for day 6: Transfer could be done to Copan Ruinas.

Quetzal Hill Cloud Forest

This full day's outing for nature and bird-lovers to a little visited, privately held cloud forest in the mountains south of Copan. We'll drive 30+ miles, then park that car and mount that mule! An hour's ride brings us into a cloud forest dominated by astoundingly huge 600 year old cedars,
a myriad of mountain palm, and a very large population of both the elusive Resplendent Quetzal and the rare Brear Curassow. Nice hiking; includes a "comida tipica" picnic.

Day 1: Meet and greet in San Pedro Sula or Copan Ruinas. Transfer to Santa Rosa de Copan; check in at a local hotel, city tour and lunch, afternoon visit to Hacienda "Ecotouristica Los Tres Jotas" where we are going to have an introduction to Tabaco by visiting its plantation and to find out about the diversifications of crops in order to maximize land productivity. Relax at la Hacienda Hot-Springs, typical welcome dinner. Late afternoon return to Santa Rosa. (dinner)

Day 2: In the morning we are going to visit "La Flor de Copan Tobacco Factory" where the finest Honduran hand rolled cigars are produced. You will have the opportunity to sample some cigars with factory experts (catadores). Further we will track the Tobacco legacy by visiting the villages around Santa Rosa and learn about its importance in the local economy. In Dulce Nombre de Copan, an small group of women are producing an improved cigars trying to close the gap in prices and be able to open a place in the market. In the afternoon a visit to the Indian town of Quesailia, where growing tobacco has been a tradition since pre-Columbian times, will
help us to picture its entire industrialization. In this town, Tobacco is a large business involving most of the population in growing and manufacturing traditional hand made cigars for the internal market. Besides tobacco, ???? (breakfast
