Welcome to Laguna Beach ResortLaguna Beach Resort is located on a small private peninsula on the southeast side of Utila, Bay Island, Honduras. The smallest of the 3 main Bay Islands. Utila is just 7 miles long & 3 miles wide, and is approximately 19 miles from the North Shore of Mainland Honduras. Its tropical temperatures range from 79 to 85 degrees year round, with the water temperature nearly the same.
The Resort is a complete facility primarily catering to the diver. It has an on site dive shop & dive boats, with experienced dive masters & boat captains who can have you beneath the deep blue sea at one of the Islands many dive sites in minutes of your departure from the dock.
Our full service restaurant serves 3 meals daily, buffet style, with snacks of fruit, chips, and sweets readily available for your afternoon munchies. And don't miss the lounge, serving up everything from beer to an array of tropical concoctions.
Charming natural wood bungalows are available in standard or deluxe. The bungalows are set up with 2 double sized beds, separated by a night stand, not unlike the bed set up in any hotel. Each bungalow has a lavatory area, shower, and bathroom (hair dryers are permissible). We have 2 bungalows with one king size bed in each. These bungalows are usually booked by couples.
While wandering around our beautifully landscaped grounds amongst hibiscus, coconut palms, bougainvilleas, and other native plants, stop in , and pick up a Laguna Beach Resort T-shirt or other souvenirs from our gift shop.
Private white sand beaches with hammocks strung from towering palms is the perfect place to unwind with a tropical drink from the beach bar after an active day of diving, snorkeling, fishing or Island touring.
Casual attire is suggested. Something cool, and comfortable shoes or sandals for walking, the main mode of transportation if you plan a visit in town. Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, and insect repellent, as these things may not be readily available.
Additional things to do at a small charge:
*Day tour of the Island of Utila
*Day trip and picnic to Water Cay (a small uninhabited island
a mere 15 min boat ride away)
*Trip through scenic canals to the North side of the Island
(you may get a look at the spiny-tailed Laguna, found only on
the Island of Utila)
The in-town office provides telephone service and fax machine for those in need.

PADI OPEN WATER
This 4-day course involves 4 2-hour academic sessions, confined
water training, and 4 open water dives. The academics involve
basic diving physics, physiology and an introduction to the underwater
world and dive tables. Progress is tested by quizzes and a final
exam. A PADI Open Water manual is provided and the PADI Open Water
videos are watched during the classroom sessions. During confined
water training, all the basic SCUBA skills are taught in 5-15
feet of water. Confined water training is followed by two days
of open water training during which basic skills are reviewed
and the underwater world is explored. During the first day of
open water training, the two dives do not exceed 40-feet and on
the final day, the two dives are to a maximum depth of 60-feet.
PADI OPEN WATER REFERRAL
This option is for those novice divers who have already completed
there academics and confined water training with PADI or another
certification organization and need to complete there 4 open water
dives for certification. Academics are reviewed and a PADI Open
certification is given upon completion.
PADI DISCOVER SCUBA DIVING/RESORT
COURSE
For those who do not have the time for a full certification course
and for those who would like to try diving before "taking

session in shallow water during which basic skills are performed
with an instructor. Following this, your instructor will take
you on an introductory dive (not exceeding 40-feet in depth).
Completion of this course does not result in certification, but
does allow the new diver to dive with an instructor or dive master for fourteen days (no deeper than 40-feet).
PADI DISCOVER THE UNDERWATER WORLD/SNORKEL
This snorkeling course introduces the novice skin-diver to the
equipment, safety considerations, and beauty involved in exploring
the underwater world. A video is viewed and academics are covered
with your guide who then accompanies you on your snorkel off the
shores of Laguna Beach.
