In this tour you experience all the popular mainland attractions: Mayan ruins, white water rafting, waterfalls, cloud forest,  wildlife reserves, mountain lakes and streams, a canopy zip line and hot spring.  And still will have time for unique shopping before heading home.

For best enjoyment, you should be in good physical condition and able to walk or hike at leisure in moderate terrain for several hours without feeling discomfort. White water rafting conditions vary  with seasons. Be prepared for class III or  IV on the Cangrejal.

Weather conditions vary. It is cool at high altitudes and can be wet any time of year.

We use the finest small hotels in the country. Don't expect 5 star facilities, but clean air conditioned rooms with restaurant and bar is the norm. 

Announcements

Day 1 Meet in San Pedro arriving flight, scenic 2 1/2 hour overland transfer to Copan. Check-in hotel at Honduras' finest boutique hotel, Marina Copan.  Evening at leisure.
Day 2 Full day in Copan visiting sites & museums, bilingual guide will take pax along the sites and provide ample explanations of the historic monuments, return in the afternoon to the hotel.
Day 3 After breakfast we visit the small museum in town, check out at noon, for the mountain rimmed lake of Yojoa, stopping enroute to visit Pluapanzak waterfall. Evening at Finca Las Glorias in the midst of a cofee plantation.
Day 4 After checkout, we hike the cloudforest trail at Azul  Meambar park then head for Tela on Honduras' Caribbean north coast. We stop in the afternoon to tour the botanical garden of Lancetilla (lots of exotic bird species) then continue to Tela and Hotel Villas Tela Mar where we spend the evening.
Day 5 Heads up! Howler monkeys in the tropical forest canopy have likely been following our little boat's progress since we arrived in the Puntal Sal Marine Reserve this morning. We spend today in the park, stopping to snorlke at several beaches and hiking to the secluded cove of Escondido, a reputed pirate hang out. After  lunch on the beach, we return by boat back to Tela, then  take to easy coastal drive to La Ceiba and check in at the Hotel paris on the main plaza.  
Day 6 Our morning adventure is the Cuero y Salado Wildlife Reserve and a ride on the "burra," or Ferrocarril Nacional de Honduras, a small diesel powered rail car. Our morning boat ride is a leisurely exploration of the wildlife along the lagoons and canals, then enjoy a fresh fish lunch in the village of Salado. Our afternoon is a bit more energetic. We drive to Sambo Creek and the famous "3 in 1" canopy tour: we climb Pico Bonito on horseback, enjoying spectacular views. On a clear day you can see Roatan 35 miles to the north.  Then hook up your zip line and let go! Your exhiliarating downhil ride ends at a waterfall and hot spring. Jump in and enjoy. It's been a long and spectacular day, but you will need your rst for tomorrow.
Day 7 The Cangrejal River offers class II, III, and IV rapids, and the Pico Bonito park that it runs through, due to its changing altitudes, features 7 different ecosystems. We start out by jeep for more than 3 hours of rafting excitement. The afternoon of your last day is spent at leisure. Your sure to find some great food, fun, and gift ideas in the steamy port town of La Ceiba.
Day 8  Transfer to La Ceiba airport at designated time. From here, you can easily add a stay in the Bay Islands or fly to San Pedro Sula for your outbound flight.
Tour includes 7 nights accommodations, land transfers in air conditined vehicle, bilingual guide, entrance fees and taxes. Meals and local flights are not included.
